The Paléo Festival in Nyon is one of the largest open-air music festivals in Europe, welcoming more than 50,000 festival-goers per day every year over six days. This emblematic event of the Swiss music scene faces major logistical challenges: security, fluidity of travel, audience comfort and large-scale operational coordination.
For several years, Technis has accompanied the Paléo Festival in intelligent management of flows and attendance throughout the site, including the VIP areas. Thanks to a network of sensors deployed on several entrances and strategic spaces, organizers have a real-time view of the number of people present in each zone, allowing them to effectively regulate attendance and avoid overloaded situations.
In 2025, the project reached a new stage with the integration of solutions Technis and Videtics, combining smart sensors and artificial intelligence. For the first time, the festival control center was able to analyze the collective behavior of festival-goers based on video feeds and real-time data.
The AI automatically detects unusual situations — such as the presence of a vehicle in a pedestrian zone — and sends instant alerts to operators for intervention.
This innovation is also based on a internal generative AI application, powered by more than fifteen years of festival data and procedures, making it possible to optimize operational decisions in the event of an incident.
Result: a better flow planning, a rapid intervention in case of need, and a detailed analysis of attendance to prepare future editions. Paleo thus becomes a security and event efficiency model enhanced by data and AI.
